Why does decentralization matter?
One of the most significant things about the upcoming web3 technology is decentralization. It means that billions of devices are linked together in a system, where the information is not stored on the single one server, but is being distributed over the whole network.
Why does a decentralized web worth entering our every-day life?
Decentralized network aims to provide a credible and reserved environment. Each member of the network owns a copy of the exact same data but has access to a personal information only. Decentralization minimizes the vulnerability of the system, reduces network failures and hacker attacks. The technology also optimizes internet services making them more consistent and productive.
The decentralized web could give us an opportunity to reclaim a control over our personal data from the tech giants. Such tech companies as Facebook, Google, Apple, Alibaba and Amazon dominate the web market owning a huge amount of users’ data, that can be accessed by hackers, scammers and others as the storage is centralized. The global app economy is concentrated in just a few high-income countries holding 95% of app revenue. That’s why we are facing a need to go away from the monopoly on the web market. Decentralization provides more freedom and emphasizes the principle of “net neutrality”. It means that nobody will be able to delete and access any kind of your personal information.
Decentralization ensures that the Internet remains a public, healthy and accessible resource to all of us. The decentralized web is likely to be a force for the human freedom, creativity with no monopolization.
